1 of the 3 British aircraft carriers of the British Royal Navy. Portsmouth Naval Base is the home of the Illustrious.
 

A former British aircraft carrier with the same name had a very successfully mission. On 11 November 1940 they surprised the Italian Tarante with a attack. This attack was also thanks to 20 Swordfish airplanes. 8 ships of the Italian fleet where heavy attacked.
