Admiraal Kuznetsov

The aircraft carrier Admiraal kuznetsov belongs to the category heavy aircraft cruisers and is the only aircraft carrier currently in service with the Russian Navy. The ship was build in 1983 and commissioned in 1985. The Admiraal Kuznetsov is equipped with 30 aircraft like the Su-33D flanker, Ka-25 Hormone and the Ka-27 Helix. The primary role is air defence of the fleet with systems to destroy enemy aircraft and cruise missiles.
